Aged Driver Assessment Procedures

Aged Drivers can have an Assessment at the RTA or through an Accredited Aged Driver Assessor (AADA)

Aged Drivers must complete a medical report from their doctor and hand it in the RTA.

If you  have booked an assessment through an Accredited Aged Driver Assrssor (AADA) an Assessment course will be constructed around your home and locality.

Their are certain criteria the RTA requires  the AADA to evaluate and areas such as shopping centres, lane traffic, turns at lights and roundabouts will be visited.

AADA will take  you on an initial assessment over the designed course and evaluate your driving.

Any problems, road rules and queries will be fixed on this day. We can also talk about restricted licences and how they operate.

Assessment day and the AADA will take you over the designed course and the Assessment will take place.

If successful the full licence will be signed off for another two years.

If not successful, the AADA will provide reasons for not signing off and another assessment can be booked for another time of your choosing. No waiting period of seven days under the old system.

If successful AADA contacts the RTA and inputs the result.
