The driver needs to know when it is acceptable to pass, what it means to be in the passing lane and how to respond to other drivers. Reading to understand the rules is more important than reading to just pass a test.

Yes I agree, Road rules awareness continues to be a challenging component for learners and existing drivers. Just today the NSW government RMS, road traffic authority commenced a media campaign advising the 10 most common road rules that are broken or misunderstood. the most common relates to roundabouts and the next troublesome road rule that is being abused here in NSW is U turns at lights. People travel to our QLD stae where sign posted U turns are allowed and think this os ok for NSW. Big problem for Left turning vehicles on left arrows and Pedestrians who are nor expecting vehicles xing when they are walking.
